Tips on staying motivated & finding your center
Motivation… a topic I get asked about a lot. “How do you have so much energy?” “How do you wake up so early to workout?” “Do you ever not feel like going to a workout class or teaching?” “How do you eat so healthy all the time?” … the list goes on.
There are definitely days I DO NOT want to get out of my warm bed at 4:30am, times I’d rather skip the afternoon workout, and I have moments where all I want is mint ice cream.
Here are a couple of tips that I use to keep me stress-free and on track with my workouts, eating, work, and overall schedule:
Plan your workouts ahead of time. Knowing your workout schedule for the week keeps your days organized and it gives your workout a bit of a variety! Sign up for class ahead of time to keep you accountable.
Lay out your workout clothes the night before. Waking up early can be hard, especially in the winter. Plan your outfit the night before and lay it out next to your bed. That way, you wake up in the morning and you’ve already saved yourself from the fashion breakdown.
Plan workouts with friends! Working out with friends is not only fun, but it holds you accountable. There have been many times I showed up to 6am spin class because my gal pals and I agreed on it the night before.
Get outside! When you need a rest day, take a walk outside. Getting outside, listening to a podcast, and enjoying the sun is a great way to reduce stress and it’s easy on the body.
Write everything down in a planner. There is something extremely satisfying about crossing out the tasks I’ve completed. Buy a cute planner, write out your work schedule, workouts, and meals. This well help you lay everything out for the week and keep you on track.
Plan your meals when you go to the grocery. Having an idea of what you’re gonna cook during the week will not only help you save money, but it will help you be more creative in the kitchen. I get tons of ideas on Instagram and Pinterest. Some of my favorite accounts include:
